Mar Thoma Teachers’ Training College, Edakulam commemorated the International Human Rights Day on December 10, 2021. The event saw ‘Equality prints’ programme where the students has to put their handprints on the white board to exhibit their solidarity towards a better society of equality. Rijin Joseph Babu, the student of English optional captured the moments with his camera so to promote the message of equality through pictures. The overall programme was an enlightening experience to everyone.

WEZIBALO- 2021
To make students aware of the roots of Indian mathematical tradition, Mar Thoma Teachers’ Training College, Edakulam, teamed up with mathematics department conducted a one day programme titled “Wezibalo” on December 22, 2021. Anagha Biju got first prize in the first game which was an outstanding victory. Overcoming each mathematical puzzles, Mehara V V together with the senior student Ludia Marium Mathew of English optional secured first prize in the second competition.

NATIONAL YOUTH DAY
Every year on January 12, India celebrates National Youth Day, also known as Yuva Diwas, to commemorate the birth anniversary of greatest philosopher and spiritual leader Swami Vivekananda and to ignite the minds of youth by delivering his ideas who are the future of the country. We organized an incredible programme on the occasion of National Youth Day on January 12, 2022. Aiswarya Susan Samuel of English optional provided valuable information about Swami Vivekananda’s influence on the youth of India. The felicitation address given by Dr T. K. Mathew focused on the National Youth Day theme of the year 2022 “It’s all in mind”. The main event of the programme was the debate based on the topic ‘Gender Neutral Uniforms’. The students of the English optional was the highlight as they were the majority. Two groups, in which one supported the idea and the others negating culminated the discussion with the conclusion that unity and equality should be in mind and not in uniform.

JANANI
International Mother Language Day is being observed globally on February 21stto promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism. Marthoma Teachers’ Training College, Ranni in collaboration with the Malayalam department of college conducted Mother Language day titled “Janani” on 21st February2022. The programme was inaugurated by college principal Dr T. K. Mathew. The competitions of the program were quiz competition, dictation, and fluency in reading. Students from English optional including Rijin Joseph Babu, Feba Skaria, Mehra V V participated in the competitions and secured prizes. The English optional became the overall champions of the programme. The day was indeed a fruitful day that taught us the important of mother tongue.

SCIENTIA
Students from Physical Science department conducted “Scientia” to celebrate National Science day on February 28, 2022. Several events of the program were quiz competition, E- poster competition,video presentation. Students from English optional marked their presence in the program by securing second position in E -poster competition. The E-poster developed by English optional was creative and conveyed message about a relevant issue. The students from English optional helped other students in the quiz competition to give the correct answer. Finally Mehra V V, student of English along with Rinsu secured second place in quiz competition making the event a glorious one.

WOMEN’S DAY
Marthoma Teachers’ Training College celebrated International Women’s Day to celebrate women and their achievements on 8thMarch 2022. To honor the brave women, students from each department enacted the role of many influenced women in our world. Jancy Raju of English optional together with Nimmy Moni of Malayalam gave a spectacular musical experience to the audience. To promote a novel womanhood rather than looking into traditional or historical women, English optional students chose the modern rising star in the world of business Malavika Hegde as their inspiration. English optional student Parvathy M became the iconic Malavika Hegde and Mehra V V gave a beautiful and magnanimous description about her. The day was indeed a beautiful day that made women even more special providing more strength to women.

ANNUAL SPORTS MEET
The first year students of Mar Thoma Teachers’ Training College, Edakulam conducted an annual sports meet on 1st April 2022 to celebrate the talents of senior students. We, the first year students were provided with the responsibility to conduct and co-ordinate the event. Starting from serving water to providing certificates and medals, we gave our hundred percent efforts in the programme. Forming several committees like refreshment committee, certificate committee, event committee, tabulation committee, we worked unanimously for the smooth functioning of the entire programme. The day was inaugurated by Saji Mukkaranath sir and the whole programme was coordinated by teacher in charge of sports Mr. Hrishikesh. Co-ordinated by English student Jeffin Sam Mathews, the food stall which served unique dishes and drinks was a relief to everyone. With an effective planning, cooperation of students and constant support on the part of teachers, the event was a huge success and a memorable one to each and every student of the college.

TALENT DAY
Each individual is born with one talent or another. To make students aware of their hidden talents and to nurture it, Marthoma Teachers’ Training College conducted a Talent day programme for the students of batch 2021-23, in two days. A variety of creative talents including art work, crafts, photography, recitation, standup comedy were showcased by the students.
The second day programme conducted on February 14th 2022 which began with the prayer song of Rincy Roy. Each student showcased their unique talents to the crowd and impressed everyone. English optional students came up with various innovative ideas like instrumental music, pushups, photography and creative talents like crafts work, recitations etc. The feedback of the talent day programme was given by Assistant Professor Ms. Anju K A representing the faculty members of the college.
